EA Schongau – Deutsch-Amerikanisches Freundschaftstreffen auf dem Eis …
Die EA Schongau pflegt seit einigen Monaten freundschaftliche Kontakte zu den Magdeburg Mammuts, die in diesem Sommer weiter intensiviert werden sollen. Aber auch internationale Verbindungen werden durch die EA Schongau gepflegt und ausgebaut. Schon vor ein paar Jahren besuchte das Team der Upland Country Day School aus Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, das Schülerteam der EA Schongau zu einem Freundschaftsspiel. Auch heuer ist das Team der amerikanischen Privatschule (Region Philadelphia) wieder in Europa, allerdings nicht mit einer kompletten Mannschaft, sondern nur mit ca. 10 Spielern, so dass es nicht zu einem richtigen Spiel reicht. Eishockey steht immer auf dem Programm der jungen Amerikaner, die neben Finnland auch in Deutschland eine Partnerschule besuchen.
Der Kontakt kam über den Coach des Upland School Teams zustande. Court Dunn ist ein alter Bekannter und früherer Mitspieler von EAS-Nachwuchstrainer Björn Michels (damals in Weiden). Leider hat die EA Schongau zum Reisezeitpunkt kein eigenes Eis mehr und so trifft sich das EAS Kombiteam Schüler & Knaben am Samstag, den 21.03.2015 um 12 Uhr im Bundesleistungszentrum in Füssen (Halle 1) zu einem gemeinsamen Training mit den etwa gleichaltrigen US-Schülern (12-15 Jahre). Auch ein gemeinsames Essen und ein Ausflug zu den Königsschlössern stehen auf dem Programm des EAS Kombiteams zum Abschluss einer harten, aber lehrreichen Saison. Manch Spieler der EA Schongau muss wohl seine Englischkenntnisse noch etwas auffrischen. Beim Training und den später stattfindenden Ausflügen wird man sich jedoch schnell näher kommen.
Es ist sehr schön zu sehen, dass Sport an sich die Nationen so verbindet, zeigte sich EAS Pressesprecher Uwe Hofmann begeistert.

The EA Schongau has maintained for several months friendly contacts with the Magdeburg Mammuts to be stepped up this summer on. But international connections are maintained and developed by EA Schongau. Even a few years ago, the team visited the Upland Country Day School in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, the student team of EA Schongau to a friendly game. The EA Schongau has at time of travel not own ice more and so meets the EAS „Combined Team Student & Boys“ on Saturday, 03/21/2015 at 12 clock for the national training center in Füssen (Hall 1) a common training with about the same US students (12-15 years). Even a meal and a trip to the castles are on the program of the EAS Combined team to take out hard but instructive season. Many players in the EA Schongau must have something to refresh your English skills. During training and later held excursions you will, however, rapidly approaching.
It is very nice to see that sport itself connects the nations as to EAS spokesman Uwe Hofmann was thrilled.
